With just 5 days to go until the launch of BlackBerry 10, I think it’s already become pretty clear that this is definitely a product to look forward to this year. But a good product needs good marketing to get the word out, especially with the tarnished reputation RIM has suffered over the last few years. So, I’m glad to report that RIM has confirmed they will air their first-ever Super Bowl commercial during Super Bowl XLVII on February 3rd.
RIM says this advertisement will last 30 seconds, but will be accompanied by a Twitter and Facebook campaign. There will also be a number of “digital and social activities” hosted by BlackBerry at the event itself. It’ll be interesting to see just what they have in mind. Maybe they’ll cover some of my nine reasons to look forward to BlackBerry 10? Whatever it is, I’m glad to see them capitalize on a huge marketing opportunity. Their new CMO Frank Boulben seems to be doing an excellent job so far!
